Alteryx Chief Executive Mark Anderson says he is “really optimistic” about the prospects for the company going forward this year.
Part of that optimism is due to the data analytics software company’s new “world-class” headquarters in Irvine, he says.
“In 2022, you’re going to start seeing people from all over the world come to our campus,” Anderson told the Business Journal on Feb. 16. He said that would include employees honing their job skills and working, as well as customers.
Anderson spoke the day after Alteryx (NYSE: AYX) announced earnings that beat analyst expectations, including fourth-quarter revenue of $173.8 million, an increase of 8% year-over-year.
The company’s new headquarters is 183,000 square feet of space at the new Spectrum Terrace campus, running along the San Diego (405) Freeway.
“We have salespeople all around the world that are chomping at the bit to bring their customers back to our headquarters to do an executive brief or a quarterly business review,” according to Anderson. “When they come out to Southern California and visit, they understand why we want to be headquartered here because it’s a beautiful place.”
In an era of spread-out workforces, Anderson sees advantages of in-person collaboration, especially for those at the start of their careers.
One young colleague in Irvine recently told the CEO: “It’s great being here in the office. I had somebody come over to my cube and lean over and basically give me some advice and tell me some great things about what they do.”
Anderson’s reaction: “Yeah, that’s kind of how it works here with in-person collaboration.”
He predicts that people will soon start coming back to the company’s offices and will need “safe and secure places in which to work.” At the same time, he doesn’t foresee any orders for everyone to come back to the office spaces.
