The upcoming Pendry Newport Beach will be the first property of Pendry Hotels & Resorts to launch the hospitality firm’s newest social club, The Elwood Club.
The private members’ club will be in its own wing of the 295-room hotel with several new dining and drink options and entertainment spaces such as an art gallery, a pub and a cabaret. Members will also have access to the hotel’s standard amenities and services.
Co-Founder Michael Fuerstman told the Business Journal that a main feature of the club will be its consistent programming with a weekly and monthly schedule of events to take place.
“We’ve been waiting for the right city [and] the right building,” Fuerstman said.
Pendry Newport Beach will open in late summer 2023, as will The Elwood Club. It is Orange County’s first Pendry resort and the third in Southern California.
Pendry, a spinoff boutique brand under Montage International, opened its first property in 2017 and now counts seven hotels in its portfolio. It has four new hotels set to open in the next few years and recently announced its first international resort in development, the Pendry Barbados.
