Mazda North American Operations, headquartered in Irvine, reported full-year sales increased 23% to 363,354 vehicles in 2023.
The automaker’s December sales jumped 45% compared to 2022 with 39,518 cars sold, which marked a record December for Mazda.
Mazda’s newest vehicle, the 2024 CX-90, began sales in March and ended the year with almost 40,000 sold. The North American division oversees approximately 795 dealers across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Colombia.
Close to 4,000 Mazda vehicles were newly registered in OC last year as of November, according to the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association (OCADA).
Mazda, currently led by Chief Executive Tom Donnelly, ranked No. 4 on the Business Journal’s list of Orange County’s largest automakers in October.
