Pacsun Appoints New Co-CEO

Retailer President Brie Olson to enter top role in March

The current president of Anaheim-based Pacsun, Brie Olson, will be promoted to Co-Chief Executive Officer of the apparel company alongside its existing CEO Mike Relich. The transition will be effective March 9th.

Alfred Chang will step down from the top role of co-executive after 17 years with the apparel retailer. Chang is set to lead one of the firm’s brand partners, Fear of God, as its CEO and will stay on Pacsun’s board of directors.

Olson has spent almost 17 years with Pacsun starting as senior design director in 2006 and moving up through merchandising and branding until she became president in 2021. She is credited for executing notable partnerships with the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Formula 1 and also for introducing the retailer’s first kids’ category and gender-neutral collection.

“[Olson] has been instrumental in ensuring Pacsun’s success with its core audience by being a key figure in innovating and cultivating Pacsun’s brand identity,” said Neale Attenborough, managing director at Pacsun investor Golden Gate Capital.

Founded in 1980, Pacsun counts over 300 stores in the U.S. with 20% of its portfolio located in outdoor malls.
