Santa Ana-Based Overair Signs Purchase Commitment for 20 Flying Taxis

Test flights around the end of this year

Flying taxi company Overair Inc. in Santa Ana said today it and its strategic partner have signed a letter of intent for the purchase of 20 Butterfly airborne vehicles by South Korean transportation service HeliKorea. Financial details were not released.

Separately,  Overair and strategic partner Hanwha Systems have signed memoranda of understanding partnerships with Daewoo Engineering & Construction and the Korean Police.

The MOU with Daewoo establishes a plan to jointly develop a series of so-called “advanced air mobility” (AAM) flying vehicle networks across East South Asian markets. The MOU with the Korean Police aims to integrate AAM within the agency.

Financial details were not released.

Overair expects to begin testing Butterfly toward the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
